What does “All Beef, No Bull” mean?
It means we are proud of our product and proud of the way our cattle are raised and handled and we will NOT… Feed you a line of “bull” to make a sale.
What do you feed your beef cows?
Spring, Summer and fall they are pasture grazed. During the months that grass is no longer nutrient dense they are supplemented with hay, alfalfa hay, corn, alfalfa silage, grain and minerals. We work with an independant nutritionist to develop a ration for our beef herd that best meets their needs for optimal growth and health.
Do you use added hormones or steroids?
No, we do not use any added hormones or steroids on our cattle. It should be noted that all mammals produce hormones naturally, so all animal products will contain some hormones. Please note that NO added hormones or steroids are used in the production of milk, poultry, eggs, or pork in Canada.
Is your beef raised without the use of antibiotics?
No, they are not! The humane and ethical way is to treat any and all animals that are sick, which means we do treat them with antibiotics so they get better. All of our calves and cows are on a vaccination program to aid in the prevention of diseases that would require antibiotics. Antibiotics are prescribed by our veterinarian and tight records are kept and recorded to ensure that all of our beef are healthy.
Do you have a veterinarian that routinely visits your farm?
Yes we do! We work alongside our local vet. He is on our yard every 2 weeks for regular herd checks and is available 24 hrs a day for emergencies.
Is it true that beef from the grocery stores is bad for me?
Absolutely not! Grocery store beef is perfectly safe, in fact, Canadian beef is one of the most stringent and tightly regulated systems in the world. We are simply offering a local product to those wanting to shop local and know their farmer personally.
